AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Guido Bartalini, Equity Partner, has extensive experience in advising domestic and international clients, and in commercial and financial litigation and arbitration. He actively handles domestic and international arbitrations, including those coming within the ICC and other arbitral institutions, under ad-hoc rules, or in the context of court challenges of arbitration awards. He has been appointed as an arbitrator and assists clients as counsel in mediation in Italy. Mr. Bartalini is admitted before the Supreme Court of Cassation. Qualified in Italy since 1991, from 2002 is professor in private and civil law, in two major Italian Universities, Università Commerciale L. Bocconi and Università degli Studi di Bergamo. In 2004 Guido was selected as international legal practice advisor of John Marshall Law School (Chicago) and in 2005 of the Center for International Legal Studies (Salzburg). Mr. Bartalini speaks English, French, Spanish and German while Italian is his mother tongue.
Vittorio Noseda, Equity Partner and Head of our China Desk, is Member of the Executive Committee of Nctm. He has extensive experience in advising leading national and multinational groups in their corporate legal needs including assistance on extraordinary and ordinary business transactions. In particular, Mr Noseda is specialised in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate and commercial, international contracts as well as in communication and technologies. Mr Noseda graduated in Law with honours from the Università degli Studi di Milano in 1987 and earned a Diploma of Advanced International Studies, University of the Pacific in co-operation with the University of Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria 1988 and a LL.M. in Business Transactions and International Taxation, McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, Sacramento, CA. 1989. He is qualified in Italy since 1991. His mother tongue is Italian and he is fluent in English.
Hermes Pazzaglini is the head of the Shanghai office of Nctm. He has extensive experience on transnational M&A, corporate and commercial issues for Chinese and international clients and is one of the very few Italian arbitrators of the Shanghai International Arbitration Centre and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration. Graduated in civil law at the Catholic University of Milan, he was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1999 and in England in 2000. He has advised major Chinese companies in Italy including Changhong, Jingcheng, Air China, China Eastern etc. He has been listed as a leading individual in Chambers Global for five consecutive years for the relationship between China and Italy. He has been living in greater China since 1991 and is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian, French and Spanish.
Laura Formichella, Of Counsel, specialized in Chinese law since 1997 and fluent in Mandarin and English. She obtained a PhD in Chinese law, studying in Beijing at the China University of Political Sciences and Law. Author of several publications about Chinese law and translations from Chinese to Italian of the main Chinese civil framework laws, Laura is Professor of Chinese Law at University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and Responsible of the “Observatory on Chinese Codification and Civil Law System”. Since 2003, Mrs. Formichella has advised many Italian companies for the Chinese market and major Chinese enterprises in Italy.
Enrico Toti, Of Counsel, is Head of the China Desk at the Nctm Milan office. He has specialized in Chinese law since 1997 and is fluent in Mandarin and English. He obtained a PhD in Chinese law, spending two years studying abroad at the China University of Political Sciences and Law in Beijing. Author of numerous publications on Chinese law and translations from Chinese to Italian of the main Chinese civil framework laws, Enrico is Professor of Chinese Law at University of Roma Tre and Visiting Professor at Shanghai International Studies University’s School of Law. Since 2003, Mr. Toti has advised major Chinese enterprises in Italy and major Italians enterprises in China.
